This Summer Peach Mule is a crisp, refreshing cocktail made with our house-made Smoked Peach Syrup—ripe
peaches, sugar, and a hint of wood smoke—perfect for sipping in the sun.
Ingredients:
– 2 oz Tennessee whiskey
– 1 oz fresh lime juice
– 1/2 oz smoked peach syrup
– 3 oz ginger beer
– Crushed ice
– Fresh mint sprig (for garnish)
– Lime wheel (for garnish)
Smoked Peach Syrup:
– 2 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1/2 cup water
– A small handful of wood chips (if smoking peaches at home)
Instructions for Smoked Peach Syrup:
– Smoke the Peaches If you have a smoker, smoke the peach halves using a small handful of wood chips (like hickory or applewood) at 225°F (107°C) for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can grill the peaches on a high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until charred for a similar effect.
Make the Syrup:
– In a small saucepan, combine the smoked or grilled peaches, sugar, and water.
– Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
– Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, until the peaches are soft.
– Remove from heat, let it cool, and then strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing the peaches to
extract all the juice.
– Store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Instructions for the Summer Peach Mule:
– Prepare the Glass: Fill a copper mug or a highball glass with crushed ice.
